Gerard Butler had a late lunch (on October 25) at the trendy Italian restaurant Bar Pitti on 6th Avenue in Manhattan with two women. He was dressed in jogging pants, top and baseball cap.

Pinkerton

Gerard Butler is teaming up with television mogul Bob Cochran (co-creator of the FOX drama 24) to produce Pinkerton, a short series about Scottish-born Alan Pinkerton, the creator of the first detective agency in the United States, who was tasked with monumental missions like protecting Abraham Lincoln and tracking down Jesse James.

The limited series is planned to run only for about ten episodes with Butler serving as executive producer alongside Cochran and Angela Mancuso. Gerard is also in line to play the famous spy and detective.

World Poverty

Gerard Butler and Hugh Jackman come out to support the launch of the Global Poverty Project’s 1.4 Billion Reasons DVD on Wednesday (October 20) at NYC’s Museum of Modern Art. 1.4 Billion Reasons addresses the urgent need to end extreme poverty around the world. Hugh and his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, hosted the fundraiser event.

Gerard flew in from Michigan, where he visited Michigan State University over the weekend to help kick off the Spartans’ basketball season. Gerard Butler turned up with the makeup artist Jeannia Robinette, a longtime friend of Butler's who has been linked to him in the past. While the pair stayed by each other's side all night, Robinette didn't stop Butler from flirting with other girls.

Welcome to the Rileys

The 40-year-old Scottish actor caught up with Petra, 31, who had just come from the Elton John AIDS Foundation benefit!

“Gerry and Petra talked for about 20 minutes,” a partygoer dished to JustJared.com. “He gave her a kiss on the cheek when he left, but they went their separate ways after the party. It seemed like they were just friends.”

Spartans

Gerard Butler visited the MSU Spartans Friday night (October 14) at the Kellogg Center while the team was watching that very film. Butler also visited the MSU basketball team, who held their Midnight Madness Friday night at the Breslin Center.

He also attended the football game Saturday (October 15) to watch the Spartans take on the Fighting Illini, and helped conduct the Spartan Marching Band.

Butler popped up all across the area throughout the past few days, exciting students and sports fans alike pre- and post-Homecoming game against the University of Illinois.

Apartment Hunting

Gerard Butler was spotted out in New York City on October 14 doing some apartment hunting.

He was joined by a real estate broker as he made his way to several properties in Downtown Manhattan. He checked out a $7.99 million townhouse condo on West 12th St. The building includes a rooftop infinity pool and entertaining space

Later Gerry visited Jared Leto who was shooting a Hugo Boss commercial.

Training Dragons

"How To Train Your Dragon" movie was released on DVD on Tuesday (October 12).

Dreamworks's upcoming sequel to hit film How To Train Your Dragon is now officially under way.

Empire claims that How To Train Your Dragon 2 will see most of the original voice acting cast reprise their roles.

Jay Baruchel will once again voice teen Viking protagonist Hiccup, alongside Gerard Butler, America Ferrera and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.

Original film director Dean DeBlois will also both write and direct the sequel, which will draw from the Cressida Cowell book series.

The film is currently expected to be released in summer 2013.

“He visited us on the sets and wanted to be a part of a Bollywood film. So he did a guest appearance but it might have been edited,” says Priyanka.

Farewell SA

Gerard Butler will say goodbye to South Africa this weekend (10/9). The actor has been filming scenes for the movie Machine Gun Preacher for the past few weeks. The film is due to be released next September.

The Septembers of Shiraz

Evil Twins, the Gerard Butler and Alan Siegel production shingle, have acquired the film rights to the critically-acclaimed novel The Septembers of Shiraz by Dalia Sofer.

The novel takes place in the aftermath of the Iranian revolution, where rare-gem dealer Isaac Amin is arrested, wrongly accused of being a spy. Terrified by his disappearance, his family must reconcile a new world of cruelty and chaos with the collapse of everything they have known.

While Butler is producing, he will not star in the production.

Gerard Butler was spotted clubbing on Saturday night (9/25) at upmarket nightclub Latinova, in Rosebank, Johannesburg, where he is working on his latest film, Machine Gun Preacher, based on the life of Sam Childers.

Wearing blue jeans and a light blue top, Butler "smiled and chatted to everyone". A witness said: "When we asked for pictures he said he didn't want to do that because he would have to say 'yes' to everyone . He said he wanted to have fun."
